Best 20×20 Party Tents

Super cheap tents can be as low as $350. We don’t recommend these as they will often have PVC(plastic) or weak aluminum poles. For us a steel frame is a “must have” requirement because we don’t want to risk a tent collapse during the party.

Yes, these tents can be setup by one person, but it would take a couple hours at least the first time. If you have two people who know what they are doing, it should take 45 minutes or less.

With one person, it can take a couple hours. With two people, you can complete the setup in about 45 minutes. I’d suggest leaving a little extra time for the first time you setup the tent.

The tents are designed to be put in the backyard with stakes. While we have seen some guides on this, we haven’t personally tried this. As such, we don’t have a recommendation on the best way to setup a large party tent on concrete/

GSM stands for grams per square meter. This is an industry standard for measuring the thickness of fabric. The heavier the better. 180 GSM is the absolute lowest we ever consider. I also wouldn’t want something this thin for everyday use. Since these are event tents that will be up for a day or so, the shades should still last a while. For canopies that you are exposed to the elements on a regular basis, we strongly prefer something 240 GSM or thicker.

Stainless steel is the least expensive. It can last several years without developing any rust or showing any signs of wear. Galvanized steel is a type of stainless steel with nickel or chromium added. This will last 5 or more years without issue. Finally, powder coated steel is stainless steel that has had an electrostatic charge applied, and then dipped in protective material. The coating can either be a rubber sealant, powder, or enamel. The result is a metal frame that will last more than a decade.

It includes the sides and storage case, and it has a hiqh-quality joints. This is the perfect model for someone who wants a quality event tent since this one has everything you need for a tent. Our only reservation is the 180 gsm fabric. I’d feel better if this was 200+, but the shade appears to be sufficient for a party tent.

This is the toughest shade fabric we found on party tents so it would be great for cold weather areas that may want to setup the tent in the winter. It will hold up to the snow or frozen rain that would be an issue for the other tents.

The American Phoenix tent (link) is our budget pick. It offers reasonable quality for the price. The sides are included, and it has a galvanized steel frame. There’s no storage case included so you’ll need to either keep it in the boxes that it arrived in. Several customers have reported using large rubber totes for storage. This may be the best option if you plan to host an outdoor party very occasionally.

The ShelterLogic tent (link)is a commercial grade tent. It is a great option for churches, schools or venues that need to use a tent on a regular basis. This would also be a great choice for a party rental company that planned to rent out the tent.
